The Moro Warrior

Hi guys! I just finished another painting, this is to quell with my depression. I was having a hard time dealing with a lot of things lately but I'm so happy to share another work of art. I'm a sucker for history, and I was inspired by mid 19th century Moro Warriors from the Philippines.
The armor is called "kurab a Ku lang". I incorporated it with different Filipino elements as well as the native hat, the batik tela, and the Bahag itself. I know tigers are extinct in the Philippines but I knew for a fact that Tigers used to roam the islands of Palawan. (Fossils were found in Cagayan valley)so that is why I include it in the composition.
The weapon is an Itak. Moro warriors where actually in the Moro Rebellion, this is between the war of Americans and Moros. Moro is a term used for Muslims who lived in the southern part of the country.
This piece really speaks bravery to me and How Filipinos dreamed of freedom and peace! Our country is dealing with big issues right now, I hope the Filipinos know what they stand for !!
